Clinical laboratories are essential and invaluable assets for clinicians navigating the difficult process of diagnosis and treatment. A surge in new assays and testing modalities has expanded the importance of such laboratories. As a result, the consequences of substandard information transfer are potentially devastating not only for patient care but also in terms of cost to the healthcare system.
With the goal of assuring high-quality information transfer, establishing and maintaining a laboratory’s QM systems for clinicians is complex. Such a task can be made manageable, however, by a lab’s adherence to bono fide standards such as those of the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and ISO 15189. At the same time, compliance to standards is ineffectual unless these standards are thoroughly integrated throughout all lab systems. This requires ongoing staff education, competency assessment, and a monitoring compliance system. As such, quality results can only be ensured through rigorous and meaningful proficiency testing programs.
CGI brings all of these required QMS elements to Japanese clinical laboratories by combining decades of experience with up-to-date information and unique proprietary software systems. Thanks to these advanced tools and our dedicated, experienced staff, we can make the clinical laboratory safer, more productive, and more economical in our support of physicians and the patients we all serve.
